"I like the large CX12 moulded one-piece mouthpiece and body a lot but then my students always told me I have a big mouth! :)
The CX12 is definitely the best harp for maintenance in my book. The first time I saw one in use I watched Bob Hodgson pull his apart and give it a quick clean between numbers on stage at our National Folk Festival and was most impressed. Bob likes them because he plays classical stuff REALLY fast and thus finds it difficult to not end up with a fair bit of saliva floating around in the harp.
Bob was the first person to take the time to teach me properly about harp maintenance and thinking of him has me all nostalgic so I've just been looking through some old pics. At right is a pic of Bob playing his CX12 at the NFF when I first saw him. A few minutes after this pic was taken he pulled the harp apart with his bare hands, put it back together again and played on. Seeing this impressed and intrigued me so much it started me on the journey that led to MandoHarp."
